We are looking for energetic PT / rehab aides (techs) to join our rapidly growing outpatient medical facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Responsibilities of this position include assisting patients and supervising their exercises. We have multiple massage therapy job openings, and the candidate will have the option to work at any of our locations in Maryland. The patient population comprises mostly adults with orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions. The candidate will work closely with our physical therapists.
What are we looking for?- MUST have at least 3-month recent experience as a physical therapy aide (tech) in outpatient settings where you independently supervised patient therapeutic exercises. If you don't have the required experience, you must be willing to complete a 1-week training program on an unpaid basis. Alternatively, you can apply as a volunteer.
- Excellent knowledge of physical therapy therapeutic exercises and the ability to demonstrate them to patients independently.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- A people-person with outgoing personality.
- Strong interest in pursuing a physical therapy career
- Comfortable interacting with other medical professionals.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred though not required.
- Must be able to pass a background check and a drug test.
What will you be doing?- Supervise patients' physical therapy therapeutic exercises.
- Work under the supervision of the physical therapist to implement plan of care.
- Setting up the treatment space and maintaining its cleanliness.
- Perform basic clerical duties such as scheduling patient, assisting patients with paperwork, answering the telephone, taking payments, checking insurance authorization and eligibility.
